Redland Art Awards is a national biennial contemporary painting competition open to all Australian artists. First held in 1981, Redland Art Awards was initially established by Redland Yurara Art Society, one of Queensland’s oldest art groups, and is now a major feature in Redland Art Gallery’s regular exhibitions program. Previous winners include: Claudine Marzik, Karla Marchesi, Nick Ashby and Loongkoonan, among others.

Redland Art Awards 2014 features four prizes, totalling over $20,000. The primary award will be an acquisitive prize of $15,000. There will also be runner up awards of $4,000 and $2,500 Local Environment Award as well as The Meredith Foxton People’s Choice Awards of $500.

Now celebrating its 29th year the competition is presented at the Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland. Opened in 2003, Redland Art Gallery is a vibrant cultural destination with a varied exhibition program of innovative and traditional works which Redland Art Awards is a program highlight.
