Photographer Richard Nolan-Neylan brings the private space of the artist’s studio or workspace into the public realm with Going Public, a series of portraits of prominent Queensland artists and their studios. Curated by Jacqueline Armitstead, this engaging and evocative exhibition plays with concepts of the ‘gaze’ while also broadening our understanding of the artist, their creative spaces and processes. Traditional roles are reversed with the artist becoming the ‘subject’ for the gallery viewer’s contemplation.
