MiCare Prins Willem Alexander Lodge and Village
The Finishing Touches: My Artistic Golden Brooch Project

13 July – 19 August 2022

The Finishing Touches: My Artistic Golden Brooch Project engaged a group of 14 residents from different cultural backgrounds at MiCare Prins Willem Alexander Lodge in Birkdale. The project was a unique and therapeutic art experience for each participant, with an outcome of 17 meaningful paintings. Each artwork reflects a rich life experience and history that we would like to share with the greater Redlands Coast community.

Redlands Coast artist Tania from Tania’s Arthouse in Cleveland, provided a training workshop for the project volunteers to equip them with knowledge and techniques needed to support the participating residents’ art making.

The Finishing Touches: My Artistic Golden Brooch Project is partially funded by the Redland Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), MiCare Ltd, with financial support from business suppliers SSS Australia, PFD Food Services PTY Ltd and Plena Health.

The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Redland City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
