In Focus celebrates the wealth of artists living and working on the Redlands Coast on Quandamooka Country and the significant role art groups play in the cultural life of the region. Held annually, In Focus brings diverse artists and art groups together, facilitates networking and collaborations, and displays across a range of media.
Flourish is more than a theme for In Focus 2025, it is a shared moment in time that honours the evolving creative journeys of artists living and working on the Redlands Coast. This exhibition invites practitioners across mediums, styles and stages of career to present work that feels honest, alive and grounded in the core of their artistic identity.
Here, flourishing is understood not as a fixed state, but as a process: a space of growth, experimentation and creative grounding.
Whether bold or quiet, emerging or seasoned, each work in Flourish reflects the unique voice of its maker shaped by place, process and the questions that continue to drive them forward.
Artists were invited to respond to key provocations in preparing their submissions:
- What artwork best represents your true style?
- What creative processes do you return to repeatedly?
- Where do you feel your practice thriving?
In support of this exploration, participants also had the opportunity to engage in a curated program of professional development workshops designed to foster connection, reflection and sustainable creative growth within our local arts community.
Flourish is a testament to the richness of artistic practice on the Redlands Coast, a diverse and vibrant creative ecology where artists grow not in isolation, but in relation to one another, to their environment and to the stories they choose to tell.
