CONNECTED BY THREAD: SMARTARTS CREATIVE TEXTILE GROUP

Connected by Thread celebrates SmartArts Creative Textile Group’s 20 years of strong friendships, shared interests and learning all things related to textiles. This exhibition gives members an opportunity to share their talents and demonstrates the changing role of textiles in contemporary culture. It includes a wide range of techniques, from traditional hand and machine embroidery to more experimental methods. Members have used processes such as beading, felting, printing, dyeing and photo transfer methods which take the form of wall hangings, 3D pieces and books.

The theme describes the connection between members of SmartArts Creative Textile Group and intergenerational connections. The exhibition aims to entice, captivate and entertain, while inspiring and encouraging new interest in textile art.
