Filmed over three years by filmmaker Sam James, Hyperreal Tales is a series of personal narratives from story tellers and artists of Shoalhaven, NSW who have worked with director/choreographer Philip Channells to produce twelve interweaving stories told through dance, images, words and music. Hyperreal Tales reveals the interior lives of individuals who have each developed, in collaboration with James and Channells, a specific language to express their imagination and desires, and to articulate their world view. Performed at the beach, amongst the bush and built structures at Bundanon, in personal spaces or with green screen and animation, the outcomes are both moving and inspirational.
